CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) has been appointed by Cargotec Oyj, a Finnish cargo handling solutions and services provider to gradually integrate real estate services and facility management into a global solution covering up to 250 sites, spanning 615,000 sqm across EMEA, Asia-Pacific and the Americas.
The portfolio includes a mix of production sites, offices and research sites, across all its business areas Kalmar, Hiab and MacGregor.
With headquarters in Helsinki, Finland, Cargotec operates in more than 100 countries and employs around 12,000 people globally. Cargotec's business areas Kalmar, Hiab and MacGregor offer products and services that make global trade faster, smarter and more sustainable.
The agreement between the two companies is an expansion of an existing relationship around real estate portfolio, optimization and transactions. With this new agreement, the integration between facility management and real estate will provide Cargotec with greater transparency and simplicity, as well as implementing global best practices to drive cost efficiency.
Johanna Ihalainen, Vice President, Corporate Real Estate at Cargotec: “Our objective is to create an integrated global service solution for facility management and for transaction services. We have both high expectations and strong confidence on CBRE’s experience and capabilities to deliver the results. We believe a global provider will bring savings through their expertise and supplier base. Partnership model ensures transparency on local and global level and improved data reporting allows control and data-driven decision making going forward. We are eagerly waiting to realize the aforementioned benefits.”
Sebastian Beronius CEO for CBRE Finland & Sweden commented: “We are delighted to have been appointed in a new global contract for Cargotec. This new contract will allow for deeper collaboration with our client, helping us to deliver an integrated and seamless service across the Cargotec real estate portfolio.”
