There are three important reasons to why professionals in production and logistic companies in Denmark want to use Demand Driven MRP (DDMRP) as a planning principle:
- Reduce stock levels (39%)
- Reduce lead times (30%)
- Improve customer services (17%)
This is what the participants answered at a Danish DDMRP webinar in February 2021.
The participants also pointed out which factors, that potentially could hold them back from implementing DDMRP:
- Lack of resources (26%)
- Fear of project failure (17%)
- Resistance against changes internally (9%)
“DDMRP can lead to large advantages for some companies and smaller advantages for others. But before you sign any DDMRP-projects off, you should run a simple DDMRP-simulation in a spread sheet to get an idea of what type of benefits your organization potentially could obtain,” said Stefan Glar-Hammarsund, partner at Syncronic.
