SAINT-GOBAIN WEBER KEEPS BUILDING ON THEIR WMS
Following the example of the Eindhoven branch, the Saint-Gobain Weber site in Grimbergen has now also implemented Astro WMS®. This is an important step forward for Weber Belgium, market leader in tile adhesives and masonry mortars.
Franky Noten, Benelux Supply Chain Manager: “Our customers consists of more than 100 hardware stores and DIY stores throughout Belgium. Next to quality they want one thing, which is getting their goods delivered quickly. The work must never get interrupted, because everyone in construction wants to make progress. Therefore, a smoothly running WMS is a must.”
Weber also wants to lead the way in logistics.
Franky: “Astro WMS® offers us numerous advantages as a total solution. The fact that we can now plan and follow up orders digitally is a big step forward for us. Customers can order 24/7. We deliver within one day, either to the company or to the construction site itself. It is also very important that our warehouse employees can work well with it. We have guided the transition from paper pick lists to working with hand scanners and terminal scanners. Everyone has taken training courses. Now, one month after the Go Live, we have already eliminated 95% of all the paperwork! “
For Weber, Grimbergen is the second location to switch to Astro WMS®.
Franky: “In 2019 it was implemented in Eindhoven. A number of my team members also actively took part there. The same people from Consafe Logistics guided us through the process for the site in Belgium as well. Partly because of that everything went smoothly! In fact, we are already seeing concrete results. We are now delivering more orders with the same number of people. We’ve been able to manage the enormous peak during Easter entirely on our own with our existing team. “
