BY Real Results: BIC Reduced Changeover Time by 40% with factory planning and sequencing application

In this video, Cindy Banks, BIC Global Planning System Manager, explains how the production visibility this provided allowed BIC to collaborate across departments, resulting in a reduction of 40% in changeover time.

BIC customers purchase 32 million BIC shavers, lighters and promotional products every day. Making sure BIC has the right products in the right places to support this enormous demand takes precise planning. To make this happen, BIC recently deployed factory planning and sequencing application from Blue Yonder in their Charlotte packaging facility, which replaced a manual three-day rolling schedule with an automated process with a two-week rolling schedule. In this video, Cindy Banks, BIC Global Planning System Manager, explains how the production visibility this provided allowed BIC to collaborate across departments, resulting in a reduction of 40% in changeover time by eliminating one-to-two changeovers per week, enabling them to create 20% more packaging time per week and eliminating the capital expenditure for a new facility they would otherwise have required.
