Are your shipments "up the canal without a paddle"?

Supply chain disruptions can happen anytime and interfere with your planning. Are you prepared for situations where orders might get lost on their way? Read Rachel's story about supply chain disruptions by Alan Duncan.

Alan Duncan, Senior Director of Industry Strategy (Manufacturing), EMEA at Blue Yonder shares Rachel's story on how she handled the situation of lost goods and how the situation could have been solved more efficiently.

Rachel had ordered some stock from 2 Chinese suppliers as usual - with a 12 week lead time: 4 weeks production lead time and 8 weeks on the sea. The goods were loaded in 2 containers on the MOL Comfort along with 4500 other containers. On the way there was a bit of a problem: the ship, the MOL Comfort, broke into two parts about 230 miles off the coast of Yemen.

What should Rachel do to solve this situation? She has to make a decision and weigh out what consequences each scenario will have.
