LYNGSOE RFID SOLUTIONS
RFID - Radio Frequency Identification is evolving as a major technology enabler for tracking goods and assets. In particular, RFID technology offers unrivalled opportunities for automated identification of fast moving objects. Its reception over the last 10 years has been significant in applications such as production management, quality control, asset management, product traceability, and transport management.
RFID can be useful in many situations within production and logistics e.g.:
- Where automatic registration is required
- Where barcoding is not feasible
- Where registrations may not be visible
Track & trace solutions
Over the last 15 years Lyngsoe Systems has built a reputation as one of the leading providers of RFID-based solutions and is today one of the largest providers of RFID systems for the postal industry worldwide and can demonstrate a track record in numerous successful implementations. RFID was invented for track-and-trace purposes and is perfect for this usage – no manual handling, 100% objectivity and invisible data capture at the organisation’s fingertips. Lyngsoe Systems has implemented a significant number of track-and-trace solutions in more than 60 countries. The solutions comprise more than 12,000 installed RFID gates and barcode technology, combining manual data capture with fully automated RFID registrations.
Numerous track-and-trace possibilities
The track & trace possibilities of RFID are numerous and Lyngsoe’s track-and-trace solutions are generic and capable of tracking assets from roll cages, pallets to transport containers, shipments, products, etc.
There is not one universal RFID tag that will work for every task. Instead there are many to choose from or they can be customized for your individual needs. Therefore, the right choice of system integrator/partner is an important part of a successful RFID project.
Lyngsoe RFID Middleware
Middleware is software that resides between the RFID interrogator (reader) and enterprise applications. Middleware performs a number of functions, including managing the interrogators, filtering data and controlling low-level machines that might be activated based on an RFID tag read.
Having developed RFID solutions for decades, Lyngsoe RFID middleware is a product with a proven track record.
Lyngsoe control centre
Equipment attached to Lyngsoe RFID Middleware can be supervised from Lyngsoe support centre. The engineers can remotely change configuration, update firmware, detect problems, etc.
LYNGSOE GLOBAL RFID TEST CENTERS
Lyngsoe’s first RFID Test Center can be found in the heart of Mississauga Ontario. Lyngsoe’s second RFID Test Center is situated in Denmark. Both centers serve customers worldwide.
The Lyngsoe RFID Test Centers are available for customers wishing to test various possibilities before initiating major projects with implementation of RFID technology. The Lyngsoe test and consultancy teams’ focus is to assist customers with implementation of RFID from start to finish. This includes guidance in picking the right technology for the job through to procurement, installation and maintenance of the technology.
Test of technology – test of business case:
- Is it relevant at all to use RFID in this situation?
- Advise on selection of technology
- What type of RFID tags should be used?
- Type of fixed reading equipment
- Reading gate/reading point design
- Readability, constraints etc.
- Guidance on radio-regulations and -approvals
- Where should the reading points be placed and how many?
- Etc.
Both of the Lyngsoe RFID Test Centers are equipped with the latest tools and vendor products to aid in the testing and evaluation of the technology versus the application. This includes conveyors and portals for close similarity to real situations.
RFID Development
Lyngsoe Systems can provide customization of the shelf products or invent and develop new solutions if necessary to solve specific challenges. The rapid development within RFID technology provides new possibilities, so what may not have been an advisable solution just a year ago could prove to be a good business case today.
Passive and active RFID
Our technology experience covers passive and active RFID solutions from 125 KHz to 5.4 GHz. Passive and active RFID solutions are not only available for tests in the Lyngsoe Test Centers, but are in daily operation in many different situations and applications worldwide.
